The
Inshi Circus was co-founded by
Roman Khafizov and
Volodymir Koshevoy in the spring of 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, which prevented many Ukrainian artists from touring abroad, forcing them to stay in Ukraine.
The two founders of the Inshi Circus brought together a team of young artists from the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Performing and Circus Arts, one of the most renowned in the world for decades. They created three shows, performed
107 times in
Ukraine, for
23,000 spectators. The second show, "Dream", received the award for the
best Ukrainian project of the past ten years.
Roman Khafizov has moved to Paris, with the intention of continuing the journey of the Inshi Circus in France, where he had previously worked on several occasions. He contacted various cultural structures and institutions in search of partners to assist him.
Supported by
Le Sirque de Nexon, the association Territoires de Cirque, and the Ministry of Culture, he was able to bring some members of the Inshi Circus to France to begin creating a new show in July 2023, which will go on tour in France starting in the fall.
The new show,
"Rêves" thus comes to life thanks to the unwavering commitment of the artists of the Inshi Circus and the wave of solidarity bringing together the association Territoires de Cirque and more broadly the circus community in France, the Ministry of Culture, the DRAC Bretagne, the DRAC Île-de-France, with the support of the City of Paris and Angers Nantes Opéra.
